School Renovations

DiDonato Associates was selected as the Maryvale School District’s Architect and Engineer in 2005 and has conducted an in depth analysis of the District’s facilities, prepared the 5 Year Capital Construction Plan, and is developing the design documents for needed rehabilitation and reconstruction.

This Project entailed the assessment of all seven of the School District’s facilities to determine the long-range plan for facility improvements and modifications to meet the changing needs of student population in one of Buffalo’s first ring suburbs.  Our work entailed three primary tasks:

Programming analysis and evaluation of current and future population distribution to examine trends that will present constraints to the use of their existing facilities. Our work includes a full educational program analysis of each building to examine the best alternatives for renovating the existing 40-60 year old facilities to serve the educational needs of the students as we move into the 21st Century.

SED mandated Building Conditions Surveys examining the physical condition of the critical building components and systems, and preparation of all forms for SED submission.

District’s 5 Year Capital Construction Plan designed to prioritize their capital construction needs to plan upcoming construction projects. Work entailed the study of over $75 million in potential work for their consideration

The Bond Issue referendum was approved , renovations were designed, and construction was completed in 2009.  DiDonato provided Architectural Design, Structural Engineering, and Civil/Site Design, as well as providing a Clerk of the Works and monitoring services during the reconstruction period.
