DiDonato strives to work in a “green” manner on a day-to-day basis. The company participates in the City of Buffalo Recycling Program, we recycle print cartridges, and provide a water cooler and reusable coffee mugs instead of paper or Styrofoam cups. We recently changed all of our office lighting to high efficiency fixtures. The front door to our office is located right on Buffalo’s Light Rail Rapid Transit line which offers environmentally friendly commuting for many of our employees.
In our project work, we provide Clients with designs and specify products that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. For example, we have utilized such energy saving techniques such as daylight harvesting, high efficiency lighting and control systems, domestic hot water system upgrades, heating system and air handling unit upgrade, building direct digital control system upgrades, CO2 ventilation control, dehumidification and heat recovery. Our designers understand the need to limit heat and cooling loss in the building. A leaky building lets conditioned air out of the building and that is harmful to the environment and your bottom line.
We have five LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, and several of our designers have worked on LEED Certified buildings.
The exterior design of the natatorium incorporated face brick finishes currently on site as a means of creating a cohesive sense of campus.
